WHY DRIVE A TRUCK?
Truck drivers are in demand now. ATA estimates driver shortages at approximately 240,000. First year drivers are typically paid between $32K and $40K. It varies depending upon the type of work, what is hauled and how often a driver works. Many employers offer great benefits such as medical, dental, 401K and expense accounts.

INVESTMENT
DFA is a full four week CDL training program. You will need to be in training Monday-Friday from 08:00-17:00. Although your total cost for the class is $6K, we have current resources available to you that will help reduce or eliminate it.
We accept all veterans that have discharges other than a Dishonorable discharge. We strive to provide veterans with a "no financial impact” training for veterans to pursue training regarding the Class-A CDL and Dockworker training programs. DFA works with the necessary agencies in order to help you utilize your military benefits. If you are eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill, Post 9/11 GI Bill, VocRehab and tuition assistance, we can help. For out-of-state veteran candidates, lodging can be provided on a case-by-case basis.
OPPORTUNITIES
DFA conducts thorough assessments to calculate previous transportation/logistics experience, career aspirations and desired career needs to match you with employers for the best culture fit. Training includes transportation laws/regulations, safety regulations, log book recording, driving maneuvers, industry knowledge and career transition. Typically job opportunities begin at the start of class and final employer matches are made by the end of class or within 2 weeks. Lifetime driver job search support is awarded to candidates after 6 months of successful employment with one of our hiring companies.

EMPLOYMENT
DFA assesses each employer to ensure there are open positions and available career-paths. Current employers are listed on our website. Once employed, there is a variety of work to do such as Route, Lo-cal, Less Than Truckload, Regional, Dedicated and Over the Road. Other specializations include moving, dock-to-dock, car hauling and much more.
FUTURE EXPECTATIONS
Truck driving can lead into other areas of transportation/logistics such as owner-operators, warehousing, shipyard operations, training, quality control, customer service, dispatch, account management, sales, supply chain, management and more. DFA’ s program is designed to produce experience and results for the next 2-5 years until you decide the next step you want take into transportation/logistics .
