In the short time that I have been helping veterans try to find jobs
I have discovered a number of "Veteran Friendly" companies who say they
welcome Veterans but when it comes down to the line, these friendly
companies are not.
These companies are telling the public that they support our Veterans.
How can these companies support Veterans by offering $8.00 per hour?
And the public buys into it and supports the companies by purchasing more products and services!
The companies win but the veterans, lose.
After taxes and bus fare, the Veterans have almost nothing to use to purchase food for the table.
And these companies continue to pull the wool over the eyes of the consumers.
Too many people think that what the businesses say is true.
When consumers begin to ask direct questions and get real answers, then maybe veterans will start to get a wage which is better than poverty.
A living wage salary would be a real start.
But since there is too much corporate greed, I am not going to hold my breath.
I won't name any of the companies but they know who they are.
And they should be be ashamed of themselves.
But are they ashamed?
I doubt it.
They take their shame all the way to the bank.
It is too bad that there is not a wall of shame for these "Veteran Unfriendly Companies."
